Actually Helpful Freeway Signs for RV'ers
Other states should sit up take notice of Oregon's new emphasis on helping
RVers. The State is posting RV-friendly signs along Interstate 5 that will
actually direct RVers to gas stations, restaurants and tourist attractions where
they can easily park.
All RVers know they are taking their chances when they
decide to get off the interstate. Low overhang drive-thru's, small parking lots
with narrow spaces, and narrow streets with no place to turn around are all
potential pitfalls for weary travelers. Oregon's signs are helping avoid these
problems.
As soon as the yellow and black signs went up, nearby businesses
noticed an increase in RV patrons.
The Oregon project was just a test over
the past summer, however, the positive results should help them stay up-and
maybe other states will do the same.
