Fleetwood RV Meets The Fockers

Although they aren't receiving top billing along with Robert DeNiro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand, three Fleetwood Pace Arrow motor homes are playing an important role in Universal Picture's hit movie, "Meet The Fockers." Fleetwood RV supplied Univer-sal with three Pace Arrows to be used for interior, exterior and action scenes. The RVs underwent interior modifications and exterior painting to accommodate the production needs of the filmmakers. One of the units was cut in half to allow for interior scene filming. The Arrow has a single 23-foot slide, which gave the movie crew more inside room to set up a sound stage for interior shots.

The front end of that RV was displayed alongside the red carpet at the movie's celebrity premiere. A complete Pace Arrow from the film was open for tours at the after party. Fleetwood held a private screening of "Meet The Fockers", the hit sequel to "Meet The Parents," for 500 associates just prior to its nationwide release on December 22.

The Pace Arrow is the setting for a number of scenes in the film and is featured prominently in one of the film's trailers. The storyline is this: now that Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) is "in" with his soon-to-be in-laws, Jack (Robert De Niro) and Dina (Blythe Danner) Byrnes, it looks like smooth sailing for him and his fiancé, Pam (Teri Polo). But that's before Pam's parents travel to Florida in their RV to meet Greg's parents, the Fockers. The hyper-relaxed Fockers (Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand) and the tightly-wound Byrnes are woefully mismatched from the start, and no matter how hard Greg and Pam try, there is just no bringing their families together.

"We're very excited to have one of our most popular RVs play a key part in a movie featuring such prominent stars," said Chris Braun, Executive Vice President of Fleetwood RV. "The Pace Arrow's appearance in 'Meet The Fockers' will introduce a whole new audience to RV travel."

Available in lengths of 35 to 37 feet, the gasoline-powered Pace Arrow has a suggested retail price starting at $131,000.
