Bring Outhouses
to
FCRV Campvention
Lewisburg, West Virginia was the site of Family Campers & RVers (FCRV)
45th annual rally or Campvention July 10-14. The annual site decorating contest
was "Bring an Outhouse to West Virginia." There were outhouses of all
descriptions, but the winner was called the "Royal Throne" and was set up on the
site of FCRV's International Retiree King and Queen, Wilson and Shirley Forbes
of Iowa.
In the past FCRVers have brought trees to Forest City, IA, buffalo
to Gillete, WY, lobsters to Fryeburg, ME, and lighthouses to Berrien Springs,
MI. Family really enjoy the activity and prizes are awarded.

This year's
rally featured nightly stage programs, area tours including white water rafting,
commercial vendors, seminars, and the Miss FCRV Pageant. Miss FCRV for 2005 is
Catherine Meunier of St. Jean Sur-Richelieu, Quebec. FCRV always sets up a
food bank at their rallies to aid the local food bank. This year $920 and 12
cases of food were collected.
They also collect pop can tabs all year and
cash in the aluminum at Campvention and turn the proceeds over to the nearest
Ronald McDonald House. This year, 4,189 lbs. of tabs brought in $2,034 for the
Ronald McDonald House in Charleston, WV.
2005 Campvention Chairmen were Gerry
and Betty Owens of Charleston, WV and their committees were from the S.E. Region
of FCRV. Next year's Campvention is in Blyth, Ontario, July 7-14. Hugh and Cami

Rally. For 2006 it is in Canton, Texas, March 21-26. FCRV is North America's
